If cardboard cutouts came alive, we would have the two main characters in Vanquish. Pinocchio is less stiff. Legendary Oscar winner Morgan Freeman (Damon) must have been desperate for cash to have appeared in this absolutely ridiculous film. Co-star Ruby Rose (Victoria) is equally guilty.
Corrupt ex-cop Damon, (Freeman) forces Victoria (Rose) to carry out five dangerous assignments by holding her daughter hostage. This includes the requisite violence and death perpetrated on her victims as Victoria dispenses her own distinct brand of ‘justice’. Apparently, she was once a skilled assassin who ran drugs for Russian mobsters.
Most of the time she is riding on her motorcycle flashing twin semi-automatic pistols as (Freeman) choreographs the action from his wheelchair. (Rose) has both a body and helmet camera on so he can watch her every move. Continually threatening Victoria’s child with harm if she resists finishing all five jobs. Damon never leaves his mansion so it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out where the daughter is being hidden. bIf this was supposed to be an action-thriller, it has failed miserably. The ending didn’t come soon enough.
