Again, we have yet another film which includes some really well-known actors, Anthony Hopkins, Abbie Cornish, Anson Mount, Eddie Marsan, and David Morse. Sadly, like the recent Vanquish, all probably looking for a quick and easy payday.
Anson Mount (The Virtuoso) is a highly compensated hitman who leaves absolutely nothing to chance. Every assignment planned out in painfully meticulous detail. Anthony Hopkins (The Mentor) is his longtime handler.
Hopkins sends ‘The Virtuoso’ on his next task. To assassinate someone known only as ‘White Rivers’. Out of the numerous characters involved, he has to guess who that might be. Through some deductive reasoning, and access to an RMV database. ‘The Virtuoso’ begins to piece together the identify of his target. Wow !! Another mystery wrapped in an enigma.
The possibles list is painfully long, is it Eddie Marsan (The Loner), Abbie Cornish (The Waitress) or David Morse (The Deputy)? Or could it be handsome Johnnie, Johnnie’s Girlfriend, the motel clerk, the GTO guy, the GTO girl, or the Camaro Dude. It doesn’t end there, we also have the mom, the girl, the boy, and the dog to choose from. All of these ridiculous names aren’t half the problem, the non-stop monotone narration by Anson Mount could most certainly induce severe narcolepsy.
The Virtuoso is so BORING. One could get more satisfaction eating buttered popcorn while watching paint dry.
