Scream VI

Maybe 8-the crossroads for the horror franchise stated by the late Wes Craven and water Kevin Williamson will begin to say something new about legacy and cleverness of its tropes after something this protracted and recycled.

But, Scream VI in the age of social media with its trolling and conspiracy theories ups the ante in term of scaling (again from the directors of (Ready or Not) but really doesn’t have a very interesting thing to say about the seemingly superhuman, ubiquitous ‘Ghostface’ slayer.  This time in the Big Apple where its ‘Core Four’ are at university.

From the notion of the grimness regarding how the Carpenter sisters – Tara (Jenna Ortega) and Samantha/Sam (Melissa Barrera of In The Heights) are coping with the earlier torment the events of bloody mayhem are set in motion., Now, with Mindy (Jasmin Savoy Brown) and Chad (Mason Gooding).  Neve Campbell’s Sidney Prescott gets enjoy her happy ending by passing on his entry while ‘Scream 4 agent.  But, original Woodsboro TV reporter Gale Weathers has Courtney Cox back without David Arquette’s Dewey as both were transitioning at least professionally.

Will, Scream VI cuts like a knife the may only be sharpened for hardcore backers with its sardonic righteousness and kills for a new generation that needs tone honed in better ways to preserve Craven’s Popular creation.
