Walt Disney Pictures is back on track. The Rescuers Down Under is a quality hit like the oldWalt Disney. The Rescuers, Bernard and Miss Bianca, are summoned to free an Australian boy who has been kidnapped by an evil animal poacher.

John Candy is the voice of the Albatross who flies Bernard and Miss Bianca to Australia and George C. Scott is the voice of the villain. Bob Newhart and Eva Gabor repeat as the voices of two heroes. The Australia setting which features an animated view of Ayers Rock and Katherine Gorge is realistic from a cartoon perspective, as are an interesting group of Disney animal characters featuring a six-foot goanna lizard names Joanna, side kick, to Scott and a frill-necked lizard who is stir-crazy as a captive of the villain. The formula is just right .

Don't send your kids; go with them and remember the good old days of Disney.
