Mile 22

Filled with an entirely incredible and impossible plot Mile 22 drones across the screen for about an hour and a half filled with action that makes little sense.

The action which is ninety percent of the film,  is so overwhelming that it becomes dull.  The plot becomes laughable at the conclusion which is written to be a twist but becomes nearly laughable.

Mark Wahlberg is a hyper active child at the beginning and continues with a tense rat-tat dialog through out the film which becomes irritating very early on.  His hyper personality matches the constant bloody battles he faces as he attempts to remove a double agent from a South Pacific country who has secret codes that control nuclear locations around the world.

The Mile 22 refers to the distance which must be traveled through the city to connect with an escape plane set up for Wahlberg, his secret group of American infiltrators and the secret agent.

When the chase is over we learn the motivation for all the death and destruction we have seen, but by then no one cares.  All this film gives us is a series of gun fights and car chases which in the final analysis mean nothing.  In fact Mile 22 means nothing in it self, it is one of the worst films of the year.
