Touching the world of science fiction the main characters in Hypnotic have the power that Obi-Wan Kenobi displayed in Episode IV of the Star Wars series. They can influence another person to absorb their direction and carry out instructions from the lead characters.
There are also shape shifters and the gimmick from Ben Affleck’s film Paycheck in which notes are placed to allow a character to remember what he/she has forgotten.
Affleck and Alice Braga are parents of such a child and they all share the power to persuade their adversaries to harm each other rather than their true target. That leads to a great deal of carnage. The outtakes at the end give us an idea that one of the shape shifters will be back again.
The action beginning scenes dwindle to more discussion and less excitement than we might expect and it becomes what it is, a TV movie.
