‘Wander To Greater Paths’ is instrumental to a righteous comeback utilizing faux non-fiction (fly on the wall) techniques for this discordant send-up of mega-church culture; particularly of the Southern Baptist variety with Sterling K. Brown and Regina Hall as the Childs spouses. Veering between pitch-black humor and the solemn may seem bold, but director Adamma Ebo (from Atlanta) doesn’t really expound on a 15-minute short feature very tellingly. Even with Brown (Black Panther) and Hall up to the task of rebranding amidst scandal. The sardonic, wry rewards aren’t really honking to resounding effect as the filmmaking intended.
