It was great to be back in the theater again enjoying a Liam Neeson action film.
He stars as Tom Carter, an ex-marine demolition expert-turned bank robber in this film written and directed by Mark Williams.
He stole millions in a number of successful thefts, but everything changes after he meets and falls in love with Annie (Kate Walsh).
She knows nothing of his past and Tom makes a decision which he believes will allow him to spend the rest of his life with her. He calls the FBI and makes a deal to return the millions he stole in exchange for a couple of years behind bars in a prison close to where Annie can visit him.
Two agents (Anthony Ramos, Jai Courtney) are dispatched to Tom’s hotel room to see if this guy is for real. They double cross him, take his money but they soon find out how ” real” this guy is.
Neeson’s character is smart, low-key and at times, just plain tired. The money he stole didn’t bring him any joy, and he’s ready for a quiet, happy retirement with the woman he loves.
There’s some action here, but its mostly a revenge film. Neeson is always interesting to watch, but this isn’t up to his previous
standards.
