God Bless The Broken Road

This faith-based drama based on a song by Rascal Flatts, stars Lindsay Pulsispher as Amber Hill.  Amber is the wife of a soldier stationed in Afghanistan, living in Kentucky with her 8 year old daughter Bree (Makenzie Moss).

Amber is a choir leader who sings and plays guitar in her local church. Bree is a typical young girl, she’s bright, and happy and she can’t wait till her dad returns home.  Everything changes for them when they’re notified that he was killed in an ambush.

Amber leaves the church and has to get a job waitressing in order to pay the bills.  Her relationship with Bree  changes from a loving, fun and caring mother to one who is depressed and just going through the motions.  She also doesn’t have time for her friends (Robin Givens and Jordin Sparks) as she works double shifts to keep he house from foreclosure.

Andrew W. Walker (Hallmark Channel’s leading man) enters their lives as a race car driver who helps local kids build and race go karts.  Even though he’s the love interest, he takes a back seat to the main story which revolves around  Amber struggling with her relationship with God, whom she blames for the death of her husband.

Kim Delaney (NYPD Blue) plays Amber’s mother-in-law.  The two women don’t like each other very much and the only reason for them to talk to one another is their mutual love for Bree.

Directed by Harold Cronk, the film is more than one woman’s search for answers, its a heartwarming film that deals with a family trying to cope with loss and eventual healing.
