Bullet Train is a convoluted action comedy, which will appeal only to certain viewers who can absorb and enjoy the comedy wrapped in violence. It is a comic Kill Bill (2003) with effective winking and blinking from Brad Pitt that makes the comedy work.

More glitzy than exciting is this action comedy headed from Tokyo to Kyoto.
Brad Pitt headlines an international cast as bagman Ladybug with a task from his handler (Sandra Bullock). Here there are plenty of throwaway gags and silly characters that deal with some of the funniest moments coming from unexpected cameos.
Bloody, violent clashes of strangers allows for intricate designing with enough kinetic energy for some to counter an overstuffed, extravagant technical package albeit with logorrhea and bloated set pieces coming across as more shrill than satisfying. Pitt’s hangdog appeal only goes so far as Bullet Train rides a bit stilted and unsympathetically even with all the malevolence of mayhem.
