Black Adam is an overwhelming stream of action scenes with aa very thin script as an adhesive.
A five thousand old city Khandaq an element called ‘Eternium’ is mined by slaves to create a crown from it’s magic crystal. The crown is the object of desire of many both good and bad citizens of Kahndaq.
It’s the back and forth gaining and loosing of the crown that the film revolves around. That simple idea is wrapped around and controlled by numerous murders, power grabs and the like, that super human characters press upon each other.
I remember in old westerns the good guy would get the drop on the bad guys and then the bad guys would get the drop on the good guy and then it would all switch back for a happy ending. That is the limit of the strength of the story of Black Adam
The best audience reaction comes at the end of the film when a preview of an expected second film is screened.
