A Love Song

This tender, yet flinty drama has a cut-down peculiarity to it that offers amusing instances, but shines because of a lack of heavy handedness, as well a candor to the performances by Dale Dickey as Faye and Wes Studi as Lito.

A Love Song has a stark pulchritude from its Colorado locations with director Max Walker Silverman underplaying to noticeable effect the unpretentious recovery of own’s past.  With compassion and resignation towards acceptance, aging, and regret that brings an uncompromising authenticity to a two-hander that two veterans (especially Dickey seize like love in all of its complicated possibilities.
