I must admit that I had no idea who Doctor Dre and Ed Lover, stars of Who's the Man, were, until someone hip to Hip Hop told me they were popular hosts of a rap show on MTV.

Dre is short and noisy, and the taller Lover is lean and quieter; together they make an incongruous pair. They play two barbers who become New York police officers and stir up a lot of trouble for both their Captain (Dennis Leary) and the bad guys alike.

Some other rappers make appearances also: Queen Latifah and Ice T, both of whom I am familiar with (lest you think I'm totally out of touch).

Although Dre and Lover are likable characters, the usual loud beat, raunchy lyrics and simple plot doesn't offer anything more to make Who's the Man stand out from any other rap comedy recently released.
