The new villains in town seem to be environmental polluters, and our hero has his hands full with this one.
Jason Statham returns as Frank Martin, the man with quick reflexes, killer abs and great driving skills. He's also usually a man of few words, but he opens up a bit with his French detective friend and a sassy Ukraine woman, played by tall, freckled new comer Natalya Rudakova.
Frank is coerced into delivering a "package" to a secret destination. He's given directions via a pre-programmed GPS in his Audi, and of course he has some pretty determined guys to get him there.
Robert Knepper is solid as the evil polluter. He shoots anyone around him who questions his orders, wihich explains why he needs an army of gun toting, karate-chopping yes men around to take up the slack when someone bites the dust.
The story, directed by Olivier Megaton, is pretty much the same, Martin has a job to do and wants to do it without fuss and without getting his natty attire messed up. However, along the way all kinds of martial arts fights, car crashes, chases on cars, bicycles and trains are standard this time around, all designed to get him off course. It's a story that seems to work, so why change it.
