It's kinda' sad that millennial kids may believe this film represents the 'real' Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It does not. In another example of innocence lost, Donatello, Leonardo, Michelangelo, and Raphael, no longer represent the original 1980's brainchild of Eastman and Laird. A time when animation was cool, and so were the 'Turtles'.
In 1984, Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird published the first Turtles comic book. The subsequent television cartoons which ran on television beginning in 1987, were true masterpieces in comparison to this CGI nonsense from Out of the Shadows. Introducing a few older characters did not improve on the initial concepts. This 2016 chapter is just as ridiculous as the previous movie of 2014. The 'coolness' factor which made the archetypal 'Turtles' so endearing, is long dead, buried, and mouldering in the grave.
It's a painfully unwatchable film, with an incoherent script. I'm still trying to figure out the story, or the lack of. This is nothing more than a lame-ass attempt at capitalizing on the TMNJ franchise to make a quick buck. The only thing worth watching is Megan Fox, she's hot ! While the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' rot.
