The Sweetest Thing

The Sweetest Thing

I guess the girls are out to prove they can do anything that the guys can do, and that includes being just as gross and stupid in this comedy as their male counterparts.

Written by Nancy Pimental (South Park) and starring Cameron Diaz as Christina, Christina Applegate as Courtney and Selima Blair as Jane, three party girls who are out for a good time and a laugh or two.  The problem is that the laughs are at their own expense.

The plot, if you can call it one, has Christina meeting Peter (Thomas Jane) at a dance club and not realizing that the wedding that he tells her he will be going to is his own.

The girls are put into every possible yucky situation that you can imagine, and Cameron shakes her butt happily through it all.

This low-level rip off of There's Something About Mary, uses sex jokes that are supposed to be funny, but are just plain tasteless and dumb.

Diaz puts her all into this film, she's bubbly and sexy while every bodily fluid gag is thrown at her.  She's a good sport, too bad she has such a disgusting script to work with.
