There is a message in this film, don't play video games, they'll kill you. Do the producers really think millions upon millions of addicted gamers will be cured by this film? That's laughable; pity the movie wasn't.
The film is about a stolen unreleased video game that draws folks in and kills them on screen, only to have the player die in reality.
Staring Samaire Armstrong, Sophia Bush, Jon Foster, Jimmi Simpson and Frankie Muniz the director blows by the fact that three people we don't even meet have died before the film begins. Seems they played the game off screen. Should we be scared yet?
Don't expect terror. It appears that Director William Brent Bell can do spooky, but not scary. It also appears he expects us to buy into the characters without being given a reason. Are they supposed to just sit and await death?
No one makes an impression and to hear "I can't believe this is happening" over and over like a skipping disc is more than we can take.
