Here we are again heading into summer and looking forward to good things. Good friends, good times, good food and great movies.

But along comes another remake. A retelling of a story told way too many times. If you choose Tootsie as a model for this style of film you might be close, 12th Night even closer. But the closest is the 1985 farce Just One Of the Guys.

In her first big screen role, Amanda Bynes stars as Viola Hastings, a teen who's devastated because her school has canceled the girls soccer program. Determined to exact revenge, she decides to transfer to the private school attended by her twin brother, Sebastian (James Kirk).

From here it's pure formula. Kick her real school's butt in soccer, fall in love with her roommate, stay incognito, get exposed, rally support for her cause, and all ends well.

While the story flowes well, if you are older than ten you'll know what's next, and you are bored. There are a few moments of humor as Bynes character bumbles through this crossdressing adventure but after seeing Bynes grow up on TV via Nickelodeon I had expected more from her. We can only hope this was just a misstep in her path to stardom.
