Rampage, a movie loosely based off a 1986 arcade game, brimmed with giant monsters and the destruction of a city, and not really much else. I didn't expect much else going in. Although, the way they developed the relationship between George, an albino gorilla, and Davis (Dwayne Johnson) piqued my interest, the movie lost me shortly after. The characters fell flat, and the plot was full of holes.
The amount of convenient plot devises was sickening. And while the monster rampages were mildly entertaining, they got old fast. It wasn't enough to carry the film. Honestly, the only good thing about the movie was Agent Harvey Russel (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), who was wholly entertaining and probably the most interesting character in the movie. Jeffrey Dean Morgan gives a show stealing performance.
All in all, it's a good idea to skip this movie and maybe pick it up if it comes out on Netflix or one other steaming sites if you're really itching to see it.
