Tom Selleck again makes an effort at a successful movie and fails. His only big screen success was Three Men and a Baby. Quigley does attempt to be a western in Australia, it has a message, and some action scenes, but it moves far too slowly to hold interest. Australia is a wonderful land, but Quigley spends all his adventure in the deserts of Western Australia, pretty boring stuff.

Quigley finds himself on the payroll of Alan Rickman, who played Hans in Die Hard, and again plays a bad guy who must be handled by the hero. Quigley decides to ally himself with the aborigines who are suppressed and slaughtered by Rickman. What remains are many walking and riding scenes in the desert toward a climax between Rickman, his henchmen and Quigley with his super rifle. Guess who wins?
