A forgettable sequel to the kid-friendly silly comedy starring Kevin James and produced by Happy Madison Films revels in buffoonery and is more a shameful disgrace of human dignity. Andy Fickman doesn't do child-like (or really childish) James (Grown Ups 2) any favors through entitlement which would overcome his clumsy, cheery flights of fancy. Life is about starting anew when divorce and a freak accident occurs on the distaff side.
In Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 the ordinary, lonely, hard-working, clumsy and obnoxious titular Segway riding character gets to ride on the coattails of the West Orange Pavilion Mall in the Garden State; a punching bag of a protagonist is invited to a security guard convention in Las Vegas with respectful and loving daughter Maya (Raini Rodriquez) passing up an UCLA acceptance.
He'll have opposition from a hotel manager (Daniella Alonso) and security head (Eduardo Verastegui) with the valiant blunderer taking on Neal McDonough's art thief with virtue by way of incompetence. The misunderstood guy is in a would be action-comedy that devolves with an overlong gluttony that is so sketchy and skeletal a villainy of happenstance and moxie reigns for those dwelling in the scatterbrained in scuttling in this comedic swill.
