This third in the Museum series takes place in New York's Museum Of Natural History as in the first film (the second film was set in the Smithsonian) and it has plenty of non-stop action.
Ben Stiller returns as Larry Daley, the Museum's guard and this time around he has to save an ancient tablet that is losing its power. It's the secret behind the exhibits coming to life when everyone has gone home at night. After a disastrous event where the statues went completely out of control, he decides to travel to London's British Museum to find the secret behind the loss of the tablet's magic.
He takes along cowboy Jedediah (Owen Wilson) and Teddy Roosevelt (Robin Williams - it was bittersweet seeing him on screen, enjoying his talent, but also sad to know it was his last role), Laa the Caveman ( Stiller in a second role), and Dexter the Monkey, who provides some rude antics. The large cast also includes Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey) as Sir Lancelot, Ricky Gervais as Dr. McPhee Ben Kingsley, Mickey Rooney and Dick Van Dyke.
The action includes dealing with attacking lions, dinosaurs and rushing lava, but it has a good message in that, they all stick together to help each other out. There's not much new here, but its still a lot of adventurous fun for the whole family.
