Still have a difficult time with films featuring teenagers as protagonists. Wargames - Hackers - Feardot.Com - Unfriended - Etc. Etc. Etc.
Nerve has some bright moments, but becomes rather cliched with its (message) ? The Nerve App invites players to participate in an internet game similar to the latest rage - Pokemon Go. At one level, it is a cautionary tale about the addictive and lurking dangers of internet games. On another level, it is too far off base to be taken seriously. While mildly entertaining, I soon became bored with the overall concept. This movie has some message buried in there somewhere, but I couldn't be bothered trying to find it. Pay to play just became way too time consuming. If this is the wave of the future, there are numerous people out there who need to get a life.
