This romantic comedy directed by Thomas Bezucha follows three young women on their dream vacation.
Disney star Selena Gomez is Grace, a teen who has scrimped for years waitressing so she can afford to go to Paris after her graduation. Her best friend Emma (Katie Cassidy - Melrose Place) and her new stepsister,
20-something Meg (Leighton Meester - Gossip Girl) join her on what they are sure will be a trip of a lifetime.
As most of us have discovered when we have big expectations, we're usually disappointed. When they arrive, the girl's experience is less than they expected. Things are bad right from the beginning, a hotel that turns out to be a dump, and a big tour that ends up being so rushed, the girls can't get to appreciate it, are just some of their mishaps.
However, their fortunes change when they decide that Grace will assume the identity of Cordelia (also played by Gomez), a visiting British heiress. The charade spices up their trip with jets, limos, designer duds and Monte Carlo - throw in a little romance, and who could ask for anything more?
The film is like a fabulous travelogue. The scenery (mostly of Paris) is beautiful and the characters are fun to watch. For any teen girl, this is an entertaining way to spend a couple of hours, and the PG rating (unusual for most teen-aimed fare) will be welcomed by their parents.
