Mission Impossible Fallout is the 6th installment of the Mission Impossible franchise. This time we find Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) attempting to track down black market plutonium in order to prevent them from getting into the hands of those who wish to turn them into nuclear bombs. In order to help him, Hunt recruits his old team as well as CIA agent August Walker (Henry Cavill) to find to plutonium before it's too late.
There is plenty to say about this film, despite being the 6th film of this franchise Mission Impossible Fallout still feels just as fresh and full of energy as any other film. In fact in many ways it improves over the previous films. Most of this comes from our main actor Tom Cruise who, despite being 56 years old is still sprinting, fighting and doing his own crazy stunts. His commitment to the role gives this film so much authenticity that makes it nearly impossible to not enjoy it. Henry Cavill also stands out as the new comer in the film and despite being new he holds his own in the film.
There isn't a lot I can say about the film without giving away key spoilers so I won't, all I will say is that my only complaint is that the down times in the film (which are few and far between) can sometimes feel too slow for the film. However, this doesn't detract from the film at all for me.
So in the end, Mission Impossible Fallout is another great installment in this long running series. While it is difficult to decide where to place it in the "best" of the franchise, I can easily say that it is one of the best films this franchise has produced. I would recommend seeing it in theaters, IMAX if able as the set piece action scenes are just a blast to watch on the big screen, and I can say with ease that I look forward to the next installment should they make another.
