Megamind (voice of Will Ferrell) explores the Earth life of a character who was sent here in childhood as his planet disintegrated. Unlike Metro Man (voice of Brad Pitt) who traveled the same journey and became a hero, Megamind is depraved because he is deprived, sounds like the West Side Story, and he becomes one of the blue meanies.
The tow new earthlings become archenemies with Metro Man foiling all of Megamind's nasty plans. Except for Roxanne Ritchie (voice of Tina Fey) a very attractive and spunky character no one cares to save him from his sadness that is the cause of his antisocial behavior.
Technical qualities which are the background fora each of the spectacular scenes and locations are flawless and impressive and the 3D fits well in the plot. Each destructive action by Megamind is presented in realistic dimension and the creation of a new villain Tighten (voice of Jonah Hill) carries another round of over the top animated action.
By the time Tighten appears the film looks more and more like The Incredibles and with the soft determined faithful Roxanne and the understanding of Metro Man, it is not a surprise that the blue meanie finds a new place in society.
This a visual treat with a story that leaves us not disappointed or impressed. It has a script that has a stronger smart appeal fora adults and only limited silliness for kids.
Even with the expanded animation in 3D Megamind is just OK.
