Meet the Fockers
Meet The Fockers
Starring: Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller, Dustin Hoffman, Teri Polo, Blythe Danner, Barbra Streisand

In 2000's Meet the Parents, we were introduced to Gaylord “Greg” Focker (Ben Stiller), his fiancee (Teri Polo) and Greg’s initial meeting of her parents, hard nosed Jack (Robert DeNiro) and his quiet and accommodating wife (Blythe Danner).

As we recall, Greg didn’t have an easy time of it. Jack, an ex-CIA agent put him to the test, literally by having him hooked up to a lie detector machine and making fun of his profession as a male nurse.

This time around, everyone heads down to Florida via a huge RV to meet Greg’s free spirited folks, Bernie and Roz Focker, played by impish Dustin Hoffman and sexy earth-mother, Barbara Streisand.

Most of the laughs come from Roz and Bernie’s behavior, and ultra conservative Jack’s reaction to it. She’s a sex therapist to the geriatric set and he’s a throw -back to the 60's with sit-ins and a deep distrust of the government, especially the CIA.

DeNiro uses a lot of mugging and facial expressions to display his displeasure with his potential son-in-law’s strange parents. But, surprisingly it's Hoffman and Streisand that steal the show. Their characters' public display of lusty affection and their love of live and obvious enjoyment of one another is great fun. Without them, this would probably be just another rehash of Greg trying and failing to earn his future father-in-law’s respect.

Filled with sexual talk and bathroom humor, this isn’t for kids; it is however, a funny adult comedy with a great cast.
