Meet the Blacks is a sad reminder that the horror parody died out with the Scary Movie franchise.

When Carl Black (Mike Epps) acquires a new found wealth he takes his family and leaves Chicago for Beverly Hills in order to avoid the purge, and the many enemies he had gathered in his time there.  Only to find themselves caught up in the middle of the purge night.

The movie, directed by Deon Taylor, is a horror parody movie akin to the Scary Movie and other spoof franchises that have come before.  This movie decided to parody the Purge franchise.   However, unlike some of it's predecessors, Meet the Blacks is a bland and unfunny film that had me wishing the film would end.  For every chuckle there were ten jokes that fell flat, and when they attempted to make a joke they would often times add a meaningless sound effect in order to make either the joke or situation itself seem funny.  Even the characters were terrible.  Everyone was one dimensional and completely unlikeable as a result.

In the end there is nothing positive I can say about Meet the Blacks.  Even if I could, it wouldn't change the end results.
