Last year's hit, Sleepless in Seattle, had Meg Ryan and Rosie O'Donnell Weeping shamelessly while watching the video of An Affair to Remember, starring Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr. The third remake of that tear-jerker stars husband and wife team, Warren Beatty and Annette Bening.

This updated version has Beatty playing ex-football star Mike Gambril, who works as a TV sportscaster at the network where his fiancee (Kate Capshaw) is a major star.

However, Mike is a reluctant bridegroom, in fact, he's driving his agent (played by a very funny Garry Shandling) crazy, because he's unsure of what he wants to do with his life.

On a plane trip to Australia, Mike's attracted to Terry McKay (Bening), who tries very hard to ignore him. Mike's playboy reputation has preceded him and she's also engaged to a wealthy businessman (played by dishy Peirce Brosnan), so she tries to keep her distance.

Mike gets his chance to woo her when their plane is forced to land on an out of the way island, and a Russian cruise ship picks up the stranded passengers. A ship is much more conducive to romance. The sun reflecting off the water and colorful sunsets are spectacular. Add to that, soft music and candlelight, and who could resist the big guy:

On the way, the couple makes a detour to visit Mike's aunt (played by the spunky and amazing Katherine Hepburn) who lives on a beautiful Tahitian Island. Again, the scenery is breathtaking; lush green fields and wild flowers make it a perfect place for falling in love.

Beatty's character is a little stiff, but after watching Cary Grant in the same part so many times, I guess anyone would have trouble measuring up. On the other hand, Bening is great. She's bright and emotionally right on the money. Hepburn is, as always, delightful, and Brosnan has gotten the good-natured, dumped-boyfriend routine down pay (remember him in Mrs. Doubtfire?).

Beautiful music, beautiful people and beautiful settings - quick, book me a cruise!!!
