While making Meet The Parents over ten years ago, Robert DeNiro said that he never thought that the film would be a hit. Well, here we are with the third film in the series, and it has hit rock bottom in the joke department, resorting to projectile vomit and erectile dysfunction scenes in lieu of real comedy.
The whole gang returns; Greg (Ben Stiller) the male nurse, his wife (Teri Polo), his parents (Barbra Streisand and Dustin Hoffman) and his in-laws, Blythe Danner and DeNiro as ex-CIA agent Jack.
Jessica Alba plays a pharmaceutical rep who hires Greg as a spokesperson for a new Viagra-type drug. She's beautiful and flirty, but Jack's on the case to make sure there's nothing going on between her and his son-in-law. His spying talents are a bit rusty however, because Greg knows that Jack is following him, which only makes their rocky relationship more strained.
The one bright spot is Hoffman, who has a very small role. He's pretty funny as he takes up dancing to keep busy while his wife gives out sex advice on T.V.
Short on laughs and big on the cringe factor, this could very well be the end to the Focker family saga.
