This copy cat of Bing Crosby's A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court is not nearly as successful.

Calvin Fuller (Thomas Ian Nicholas, Rookie of the Year) is a typical Southern California kid. He has little confidence and plays baseball very poorly. Suddenly he is transported by Merlin, King Arthur's sorcerer, to Camelot where he finds a fading King Arthur (Joss Ackland.) It is up to Calvin to save the damsel in distress, defeat the enemies of Arthur and gain confidence in himself.

Nicholas is hollow and reads his lines as if he were in a situation comedy. The other performances are OK but the production and script are feeble. The imagination used in the old Bing Crosby film is nonexistent despite the parallel story.

This is not one of Disney's fest.
