The fifth installment in the Ice Age animated series has the gang back in a family-friendly adventure.

Scrat the squirrel, while engaging in his favorite pastime, - chasing down a tasty acorn - finds himself in plenty of trouble.  He mistakenly stumbles into an old spaceship while pursuing his elusive dinner, and takes off crashing into the galaxy and upsetting the world order..

You don't have to have seen any of the previous films to get involved with these characters, and there are plenty of them to follow.  Sid (John Leguizamo) the funny sloth and his granny (Wanda Sykes), Ray Romano  as Manny the woolly mammoth and his dear Ellie (Queen Latifah), Diego the Sabre tooth tiger played by Denis Leary and his mate Shira (Jennifer Lopez).

Although the film is chuck full with a number of different story-lines,  ( aliens, a cosmic disaster which drove the animals from their homes, and a love story, to name a few), the colorful characters, especially the much put-upon Scrat gave the audience a good time.
