This uneven comedy is based on writer Toby Young’s story.

Directed by Robert Weide, Simon Pegg stars as Young, a Londoner who enters the fast lane when he moves to New York City.

A new job at Vanity Fair magazine allows him to rub elbows with celebrities, and he quickly takes to the perks that come his way. The best tables at trendy restaurants, chauffeur driven limos, and the pretty girlfriend (Kristen Dunst) are all his for the taking, for a while anyway.

Jeff Bridges is wasted on Young’s boss, and Dunst could use a good role for a change.
The film offers much yelling, gags and insults thrown between the characters, but unfortunately very little comedy.
