For those of us who enjoyed and remember "Fractured Fairy Tales" from the old "Bullwinkle" TV show there is a new place to visit in the Weinstein Company's Hoodwinked, where no nonsense Red (Anne Hathaway) traverses a complex woods to meet grandma (Glenn Close) and the wolf (Patrick Warburton) who has taken her place in bed.

But Hoodwinked is a twisted version with four different crime scene versions within the complex turn of the story. A frog with a mustache is the chief investigator looking for who stole the recipes from all the shops in the township which is on a game board. The crime crippled the economy.

Red who usually delivers the goodies sings as her goodie bike flies through the air as if ET were the force behind the motion. The wolf who we naturally suspect as the culprit is instead a reporter who works with a hyper squirrel who is his photographer. They gather information from Woolworth, the sheep who is an informer. The characters travel in many creative ways one being in a mine cart like Indiana Jones.

There are many surprises and we even fine that the Ax Man (Jim Belushi) can save the day and that granny has a secret stash and participates in extreme sports.

Filled with silly fun action the kids will giggle through out and the adults will thrive on the quick, smart dialogue.

With three little pigs as the cops working with the frog it all gets put together, the wolf believes he has been profiled, humming birds fly Red around and the caffeine powered squirrel becomes a hero.
