When a film is classified under the (Comedy) genre… It should probably have a few laughs. Instead, The Guilt Trip is a tedious 96 minute snooze-fest. (Andy) Seth Rogen has invented a bio-friendly cleaning product called "Scioclean". He spends all of his time (and money) marketing the new product, with very limited success.
He decides to drive cross–country on sales calls inviting his Mom (Barbra Streisand) to accompany him. As they reconnect from time apart, old wounds begin to surface changing the tone to melodrama. It becomes further disjointed as the movie progresses. The Guilt Trip could have been a funny, upbeat and life affirming reunion of Mother and Son. – It wasn't … Leaving the viewer questioning "What just happened here?" as the credits begin to roll.
