Marlon Wayans stars in this parody of E.L. James' Fifty Shades Of Grey that he co-wrote with Rick Alvarez.
He plays Christian Black, a rich businessman who made his money by selling drugs. He has all the trappings of wealth and he tries his best to be cool, but it doesn't quite work for him. He meets Hannah Steele (Kali Hawk - Bridesmaids), a homely, clumsy young woman who works part-time at a hardware store, when she shows up to interview him for her girlfriend's college newspaper.
The two eventually get together and Christian takes her into his kinky world. With Hannah's clumsiness, you can imagine the strange visuals that occur whenever the two are together. The script goes into overdrive to insult, belittle or embarrass almost everyone, but especially women. Its packed with unflattering stereotypes, silly pratfalls and graphic sexual scenes, all done for comic effect - however, very little of it is actually funny - mostly just uncomfortable to watch.
Unfortunately, talented actors Florence Henderson, who has a small part and Jane Seymour, who plays Christian's adoptive mother and Fred Willard as her husband, are wasted in the film.
Usually I can appreciate the Wayan's sense of humor, but here, director Michael Tiddes just has a tasteless dud on his hands.
