Three young people, Reese Witherspoon, Ethan Randall and Sarel Bok, are chased across the Kalahari Desert in South Africa by a black market ivory thief named Ricketts (Jack Thompson).

The scenes of the Kalahari, particularly the drifting sand and reflected light, are beautiful and gracious to see on the big screen. The story on the other hand is limited, simplistic and far too slow for kids to sit through. There is also more violence than most parents would want their kids to see.
