Eye of the Beholder Eye of the Beholder

The story line, in short, is one of obsession and murder.  Ewan McGregor plays "The Eye", a member of British Intelligence who is assigned a case that introduces him to Joanna Eris, portrayed by Ashley Judd.

Judd plays a man hating killer who was abandoned by her father and leaps from town to town, changing her name, wig style and job after every killing.

McGregor is the on the edge "secret agent" who has lost his life with the loss of his daughter and wife.  You are never really given a full understanding as to why the loss occurred, just that he is haunted by it and "sees" his daughter everywhere he looks.

Obsessed with Judd, McGregor becomes a voyeur of her life and begins to protect her and ultimately destroys her.

The other cast of characters include Jason Priestly as an abusive drifter and Genevieve Bujold as a former mentor / psychiatrist for Judd character.

Both McGregor and Judd turn in solid performances, but the script / direction lack coherence.  You will find yourself not only bored, but horribly confused from start to finish.
