Encino Man

Two teens, Dave (Sean Astin Toy Soldiers) and Stoney (Pauly Shore - "MTV") dig up a frozen caveman, Link (Branden Fraser) and hope their discovery will make them famous and popular with the girls.  Unfortunately, it's Link who becomes popular, he's so out of it, he's cool.

The humor is silly, but good-natured.  Most of the comedy revolves around the boys introducing their California Valley way-of-life to Link; driving, school dances and Slurpees offer new and fascinating exploration.

Mariette Hartley and Richard Masur (this guy's making a good living playing dads) play Dave's parents.

Encino Man is silly, but since it's rated PG, the whole family can go and have some harmless laughs.
