In part 2, Winter the dolphin with a prothesis, faces another crisis when her companion dolphin is healed and allowed to travel back to the ocean. Winter must have a companion in the water with her, or regulations from the USDA will require her to be moved to another site.
The two young folks who have been caring for Winter during the summer along with the entire cast are opposed to having the dolphin moved from the place where she learned to adapt with an addition to her damaged tail. The plot is very thin and has various filler scenes of folks and dolphins swimming. The cast has a fine lead by Morgan Freeman, Ashley Judd and Harry Connick, Jr. work well but have little work to do. In reality the dolphin is the star.
The plot is thin probably by design and that works for kids who can follow the limited danger and cheer for the continued rehabilitation of Winter.
This is not much of a film it also has nothing wrong with it. I guess at best this can be an enjoyable afternoon or evening for a family, and that is just fine.
