Ronny (Vince Vaughn) faces the terrible decision of whether to tell his best friend and business partner Nick (Kevin James) that he saw his wife Geneva (Winona Ryder) passionately kissing another man (Channing Tatum).
Directed by Ron Howard, the film takes a more serious look at the subject than you would expect from a Vaughn/James starred. There are some laughs, but clearly Ronny is shaken by the prospect of hurting his dear friend.
The men are preparing for a big presentation to Chrysler Corporation. Nick has come up with an invention that gives big engine sounds to electric cars. Ronny is the pitch man, but all he can think about is his friend, and how he will react to the bad news.
Ryder is good in the role, especially in a scene in a diner when Ronny confronts her. She has some reactions that are quite unexpected. Jennifer Connelly costars as Ronny's girlfriend, and she seems to be the most level headed of the bunch.
Queen Latifah is totally wasted in a small role as a business liaison between Chrysler Motors and the two men.
Vaughn is taken through the ringer, both physically and emotionally. He's frequently beaten up (too much if you ask me), has a mean allergic reaction and falls down a lot. Both he and James are very entertaining, funny actors, they just need a better script to feature them.
