A new cast does nothing for the next installment of this stale series. Long Haul continues Greg Heffly and his family's story, telling of their road trip misadventures, and if you've seen one road trip movie, you'll already know what to expect from this film.

Everything that can go wrong does and in the most exaggerated way possible. Being that this movie is told in a child's point of view, the exaggeration does make sense, but it uses tired tropes and cliches. There isn't anything new or exciting about this film.

The juvenile humor is perfect for its intended audience but the jokes get old fast and sometimes become painful to watch. It's definitely a film directed at kids, especially those who enjoy the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series.
