The Call

Both Halle Berry and Abigail Breslin give commendable performances. It's the script that does them in. The Call is really two films in one - that just don't connect.
In the beginning, we see and feel the stress 911 operators endure on a daily basis and how it affects them both physically and emotionally and the incredible toll it takes on their personal lives.
When Breslin is kidnapped the film's tone changes dramatically from tense drama to B film mentality, thus lowering our expectations, and catering to the lowest common denominator of filmgoer.
