Brother Bear
Brother Bear

Starring Joaquin Phoenix, Jeremy Suarez, Jason Raize,
Rick Moranis, Dave Thomas, D.B. Sweeney

In what is likely to be one of the last of the Disney traditionally created animations, Brother Bear borrows from many Disney favorites including Beauty and the Beast, Ice Age and The Lion King.

The story revolves around a young man who kills a bear out of rage and the "spirits" change him into a bear only to be hunted by his own brother.

As one can expect, the story is rather preachy but the animation even though old school is superb. Add into the mix some sappy songs by Phil Collins along with a couple of moose for fun and you get a plodding story and expected ending. Though rated G, don't expect younger children to be engages, the story has a mature storyline and violence is present from the beginning to end.

Brother Bear shows there is life after PIXAR, but watch for this to be in retail stores very soon as cinema life will be short.
