Avengers: Infinity Wars is the film fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been waiting for ever since the end credit sequence of the original Avengers film in 2012 when we were introduced to Thanos (Josh Brolin).  Everything we have seen has led to this film and the pay off it provides.  To say that this film had high expectations would be an understatement.  However, I can safely say that this film meets and exceeds those expectations.  To put it simply, Avengers: Infinity Wars is probably the best Marvel film to date.

The film is what you would expect if you have been watching the other films.  Thanos, the mad-titan has begun his quest to retrieve the 6 infinity stones.  With these he intends to wipe out half of the world's population (with the snap of his finger as Gamora put it).  And its up to not only all of the Avengers (both official, unofficial and former) to stop him but also the Guardians of the Galaxy as well.  With such a large cast of characters it's hard to imagine it all coming together.
However, the film does a great job giving all of their characters screen time and their moment to shine.  They do this by essentially splitting the characters up into 3-4 groups and have them on their own separate missions all with the purpose of defeating Thanos.

But speaking of our main villain I must admit that caught me by surprise.  After many films where the villain was very one-dimensional, Thanos comes in and easily becomes the best villain in the franchise.  In this one movie they manage to make Thanos a complex character which not only makes him a good villain but a good character that can stand on his own.  One thing that is very obvious from the beginning of this film is that the tone of the film would be much darker then other films.  That's not to say there weren't jokes that you would come to expect from this franchise, but the film is considerably darker which would make sense considering the entire universe is on the line.

There is so much I would like to talk about in this film however, I admit it is difficult to do without spoiling the film.  So I would say that this movie must be seen, especially for those who have seen the previous films.  It is a payoff of the grandest proportions, but I would recommend going in without people telling you what happened as the spoilers of this film ruin the initial punch the film aims for.

So in the end, Infinity Wars exceeds expectations and gave what is probably the best Marvel film to date and is definitely worth seeing in theaters as soon as possible.
