Angel Eyes

Angel Eyes

Jennifer Lopez plays a Chicago police officer, Sharon Pogue.  A tall, dark mysterious stranger named "Catch" (Jim Caviezel - Frequency) saves her from a dangerous ambush and continues to show up whenever Sharon turns around.

She's attracted to the brooding, stubble-faced man, but at the same time is leery of where he came from and what he's used to.  Could this Good Samaritan be her guardian angel, or something more sinister?

He has no personal connections, his apartment is bare, and his conversation is vague.  All of this intrigue just makes Sharon's attraction to Catch more keen.

Shirley Knight, a favorite character actress of mine, gives a wonderfully layered performance in a small role.

Lopez successfully combines a tough and sexy, yet vulnerable character.  She's a girl who can take care of herself, yet appears to be in need of care, all at the same time.

Angel Eyes moody, cat and mouse relationship between the two stars increases interest in what could have been just a run-of-the-mill police thriller.
