The original American Pie was released 13 years ago and at the time it pushed comedy boundaries to downright raunchiness.   That film focused on five teenage boys who chased girls, thought about sex most of the time and partied hard.  The film catches up with the guys as they meet up in their hometown to attend their high school reunion.

The full cast returns- Jason Biggs is Jim, Seann William Scott is Stifler, Chris Klein is Oz, Thomas Ian Nicholas is Kevin and Eddie Kaye Thomas is Finch.   They  have unrewarding jobs and mundane lives and are looking for a little excitement.

Jim is still married to Michelle (Alyson Hannigan) and they have a 2 year old boy.   The romance has gone out of their marriage and they're hoping to rekindle it.   Staying with Jim's dad, played by Eugene Levy whose eyebrows seem to have a life of their own, they leave the boy with dad and make a date for some alone time.    But, as predictable, all sorts of obstacles pop up.

The guys get themselves into one embarrassing situation after another.   Jim is chased by an amorous drunk teenage girl he used to babysit for and once again, finds himself naked in his father's kitchen.   His friends are no better off.   They drink too much, have fights with much younger guys, lust after old girlfriends and when not having sex, they talk about it constantly.

Even Jim's dad is not immune.   He gets drunk, smokes dope and hooks up with Stifler's mom.   But, out of all the characters, his is the most sympathetic and his uncomfortable sex talk with Jim could almost be categorized as "sweet."

Written and directed by Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, this film is the fourth installment in the series.   Some of it is funny, a lot of it is disgusting and since we've seen most of it before, I would be happy if it were the last.
