Mel Gibson, perhaps the most likable actor on the screen today, plays a wild, free-spirited, irresponsible pilot who works for the CIA in Laos during the Vietnam War. Along with buddy Robert Downey, Jr., they drop supplies, crash planes and generally raise havoc with their superiors. There is enough Lethal Weapon-type stuff to make a fun comedy for the summer. What may be most important about this film is its irreverent look at the Vietnam War; perhaps the war is far enough away to find the light side.
